CoD: Modern Warfare II is already the best release of the franchise on Steam

There are very few certain things in life, but the launch of a new Call of Duty at the end of the year is one of them. Amid discussions between PlayStation and Xbox over the future of the franchise, Modern Warfare IIa direct sequel to the 2019 title, finally hit stores on Friday, October 28, to great acclaim around it.

According to data from the statistical portal SteamDB, the most recent installment of the war franchise reached a historical peak of 238,522 simultaneous players shortly after its debut. As of this writing, the situation remains positive. We say this because there are 237,769 concurrent users on the Valve platform.

This represents an impressive achievement. What happens is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II It’s already the franchise’s best launch in Steam history. To put it in perspective, the previous record was held by Call of Duty Black Ops 2010 with 118,593 concurrent users.

Because some previous installments did not debut on the platform, it is difficult to know if, for example, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War either Vanguard exceed any of the above figures. Even so, we are facing a success wherever you look at it.
