Could it be that gamers’ taste buds are special? Apparently for Coca Cola, it is so. The company announced the launch of Coca-Cola Ultimate, a limited edition for gamers that was made possible through an agreement with developer Riot Games, the makers of League of Legends.
Coke Ultimate, available in regular and sugar-free versions, will go on sale starting June 12 in stores in the United States and Canada for a limited time only. For the rest of the world, those interested will be able to consume the carbonated drink only without sugar from the next few days.
But what will Coke Ultimate to be designed for gamers? What does a product of this nature taste like? The truth is that not even Coca-Cola itself will tell you: the only solution is to go to the nearest store (if you’re lucky) and drink the soda.
“We will never answer that question”Oana Vlad, Coca-Cola’s senior director of global strategy, told . “They are mysterious flavors. But they always have to taste like Coca-Cola. The flavor profile is always, say, 85-90% Coke. And then that 10 or 15% of something unexpected”.
So all you have to do is search and treat yourself. We recommend buying two so that you keep one as a souvenir, because Coca-Cola does not usually standardize productions with special flavors or collaborations of this type. They are unique experiences and that is what you will have to face.
