It seems like something out of a science fiction movie, but apparently, Apple has found a way in iOS 16 so that the iPhone can decide on its own when to charge, taking into account not only our terminal usage habits, but also the origin of the electricity that reaches our home.
As we read on Engadgetthis feature should be able to somehow recognize the origin of the electricity that reaches our plug to decide how to chargealthough the absence of details prevents a complete understanding of how it works.
Probably use a combination of location and time of day, along with information from power companiesto optimize the charging of the terminal, although this could also interfere with the intelligent charging system that decides to charge the terminal based on the use we give it, a system that it will complement.
In any case, it is a curious initiative on the part of Apple that, although it is not the first to implement something like this, continues to appear as an important option for our environment. Whether it is useful or not, that will have to be seen later, because as we mentioned, at this time it is not clear how it will work.
