Her name is Maria Angeles Rosado. She is a farmer, a woman of arms taken and in the last legislature was a real nightmare for the Department of Agriculture of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha – under the PSOE-Podemos Government – on account of the policies around organic farming, with a forceful message that the agrarian organizations were not spared either. “ASAJA tells us to keep quiet and not present allegations,” she said in 2016, when she denounced “cuts” in aid for organic crops.
Born in the province of Ciudad Real, he lives in Sayatón, a town near the headwaters of the Tagus, in Guadalajara. Her story went viral when she decided to enter politics as a candidate for Congress in the April 28, 2019 elections on the Ciudadanos lists. She and she got it, albeit for a short time.
The call for new general elections that same year put an end to his political options after the collapse of the orange formation at the polls, in the second round of the general elections, on November 10 of that year. Rosado lost his seat in the Congress of Deputies, along with 46 other deputies from Ciudadanos, which kept 10 deputies.
Today Rosado is in the news again because she will be a PSOE candidate. It has been Emiliano García-Page himself, candidate to revalidate the Board, who has presented the candidacy headed by the former deputy for Citizens in his town, Sayatón. It was at a ceremony in Cedillo del Condado (Toledo) where Page made him known.
It won’t be the only one. The mayor of the Toledo municipality, Luis Andrés Martín, is now presenting himself for the PSOE. He has been mayor in this town for 11 years and since 2015 he was under the acronym of Ciudadanos, since before he was a member of the Union of Independent Citizens of Toledo (UCIT), until he ended up dissolving into Ciudadanos in 2014.
A few days ago in a dialectical crossroads, the regional coordinator and candidate for the Citizens’ Board Carmen Picazo sent García-Page “with a bow” to all the ‘ex’ of the orange formation. The PSOE has touched many of these people to incorporate them into its project. Some have accepted.
Emiliano García-Page said today in this town of Toledo on the border with the Community of Madrid that he does not consider “how many are mine. I want to convince people that I am one of theirs” and he was “proud to be able to include many people in the Ciudadanos field, praising the negotiation in the regional Parliament with deputies from this formation, ending the legislature with 70% of decisions taken by the Cortes “without any vote against or unanimously”, according to Europa Press.
“There are many values that we can share even if we have different opinions or the votes are different. We are not here to break, or destroy, or cut back, we are here to try to add ”, she asserted.
Page highlights the figure of Yolanda Díaz and “her people” because “they are useful”
In addition, Page has valued the figure of Yolanda Díaz, hoping that she achieves “consensus”, stressing that she knows “many people from ‘Sumar’ who are worthwhile and who are useful” and betting on having “an inclusive attitude at all times” taking advantage of the worth of people in an “individual capacity”. It’s the second time she’s done it.
Santiago Carrillo was a member of the Socialist Youth and Felipe González incorporated a large number of leaders of the UCD
He has also recognized that “attracting independent people” is difficult and that the PSOE has “began to become self-absorbed”, an attitude that must be left behind. And he has wondered how many of those who are going to support him think like him, pointing out that they may not share his ideas one hundred percent to show himself convinced that “unity is the most direct path to success”.
Thus, he has advocated proposing ideas, but not to use them “as a thrown weapon against the other half” but to use them to advance. To support this argument, he has drawn on historical references such as Santiago Carrillo, leader of the Communist Party, who “was a militant of Juventudes Socialistas” or Felipe González, who managed to incorporate a large number of leaders of the Unión de Centro Democrático (UCD).
After boasting in Cedillo of employment data, industrial production and public services, he has defined it as an area attached “to the epicenter of economic growth, which receives overflow from a good part of Madrid”, and that they come to Castilla-La Mancha because they cannot afford to live in the neighboring community.
And it is the regional Administration, he pointed out, that has to provide services, such as the construction of schools, setting itself the challenge of building 20 more new centers in the next four years. At this point, he has recognized the work of the good mayor of Martín, who has also claimed one for the municipality, and whose tender has been published this Friday in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha.
He has also had words for the Sayatón candidate for defending the depopulation law, and for transmitting “conviction and authenticity” in a town of 50 inhabitants.
Why have they given the ‘Yes’ to the PSOE?
María Ángeles Rosado has explained why she said yes to the PSOE to join their lists: for “usefulness and responsibility for my neighbors, because we have a cacique with capital letters.” And the second, “for the benefit of my family,” she has stated.
For his part, Luis Andrés Martín has predicted “a change of cycle in Cedillo and throughout the Sagra” and has advocated giving a “boost to logistics and renewable energy”, ending the “problem of unfinished, vandalized and busy”.
The event was attended by 200 people, including Concha Chapa, current councilor of the Madrid City Council, a native of Alcázar de San Juan, one of the Ciudadanos councilors in the Madrid City Council who distanced themselves from the project of the deputy mayor Begoña Villacís. More than 20 candidates who come from the initials of Ciudadanos have also been present, as sources from the PSOE of Castilla-La Mancha point out.
