The researcher from the Department of Plant Science of the Agri-Food Research and Technology Center of Aragon (CITA) Mª José Rubio-Cabetas will participate in the XIII International Symposium on canopy management, rootstocks and environmental physiology and training systems in fruit trees of the ISHS that will take place will take place from January 19 to 24 in Napier, New Zealand.

This conference is organized by the International Society of Horticultural Sciences (ISHS) and Plant Food Research and brings together world-leading researchers, technical representatives of the industry and producers of fruits from temperate, subtropical and tropical climates, who will present their current research. .

Among the topics addressed are canopy management, plant genetics – rootstocks and new cultivars -, training systems, digital horticulture, and plant and environmental physiology and modeling.

María José Rubio-Cabetas will present the oral communication ‘Preliminary results in the Iberian Peninsula of Pilowred: a new nematode-resistant rootstock that confers low vigor’, in which CITA researcher Beatriz Bielsa and research technicians María Teresa Espiau also collaborate. and Circe Gómez.

A poster communication ‘Screening for genetic resistance in advanced selections of Prunus rootstocks for the selection of genotypes resistant to fungal root diseases’ is also presented, in which CITA researchers Jérôme Grimplet, Vicente González, Clara Córdoba have also collaborated and Beatriz Bielsa and the head of R&D&i at Agromillora, Marta Balsells.
