April 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of China has announced sanctions against two United States companies for their alleged links to the sale of weapons to Taiwan, an island whose sovereignty Beijing claims.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Asian giant has confirmed the addition of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and General Dynamics Land Systems to the blacklist, which would imply the freezing of any assets they may have under Chinese sovereignty.
The exchange of sanctions between the two powers is practically constant and, in fact, Washington has also put four Chinese firms in its sights this week accused of collaborating in obtaining artificial intelligence chips by the Armed Forces.
The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, stressed at a press conference that Beijing will adopt all the “necessary” measures to safeguard the rights of its companies and has urged Washington not to politicize commercial activities, according to the official press. .
