China has rejected repeated offers from the United States to share vaccines, fueling frustration among US officials over concerns of a resurgence of the pandemic.
The Biden Administration has offered vaccines to Beijing, given concern about new variants and the impact on the Chinese economy, according to the Bloomberg agency.
Washington has also proposed indirect ways to supply vaccines so that there is a possibility that Xi Jinping will accept foreign aid, several US officials have told the aforementioned agency.
International organizations have questioned these days the transparency of the Chinese Ministry of Health, which has seen an exponential increase in cases after the drastic lifting of restrictions within the framework of the ‘Covid Zero’ policy.
Meanwhile, several countries have begun to put travel restriction measures on people coming from China and have asked them to share data on their current infection situation to deal with the pandemic, collaborating “closely” globally.
