April 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, held a telephone conversation this Monday with his Iranian counterpart, Hosein Amirabdolahian, with whom he discussed the latest events in the Middle East, in particular the Iranian attack on Israel over the weekend.

“Amir Abdollahian has informed his Chinese colleague of the diplomatic efforts and legitimate actions of the Armed Forces against the arrogance of the Israeli regime and the attack on the Embassy of our country in Damascus,” the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim reported.

Furthermore, Amirabdolahian has warned that any Israeli aggression “will be responded to immediately and comprehensively.” “We have clearly warned the White House that if the Zionist regime dares to repeat terrorist attacks against Iran's interests and security, Iran's response and its next actions will be decisive, immediate and extensive,” she stressed.

Wang, for his part, has conveyed to Tehran his “strong condemnation” of the Israeli bombing of the Iranian Consulate in Damascus on April 1, considering it “a violation of international principles and norms.”

Furthermore, the Chinese diplomat has stressed that Beijing “has always supported Iran's just demands in the Security Council”, despite the fact that “the US Government applies a double standard (…) regarding the condemnation of the actions” of Iran. Israel.

Wang has also demanded peace in the region as a goal and the implementation of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “China and Iran are strategic partners,” they stressed.
