Blinken looks forward to “productive and constructive conversation” with his Chinese counterpart Wang Li
July 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has stated that the United States and China “are two important countries”, so it is necessary to maintain “normal exchanges”, before meeting in Bali, Indonesia, within the framework of the summit of the G -twenty.
“At the same time, we need to work together to ensure this relationship continues to move on the right track,” Wang said.
The head of Chinese diplomacy has indicated the importance of “remaining committed to the principles proposed by President Xi Jinping: respect, peaceful coexistence and voluntary cooperation”.
In Wang’s view, these values are “the shared aspiration” of both the two countries and the international community.
Likewise, the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, has assured that both countries have to bet on diplomacy. “I look forward to a productive and constructive conversation,” he commented.
“In a relationship as complex and consequential as the one between the US and China, there is a lot to talk about,” said Blinken.
