During those days there will be a Unified Mobility Command Post, in the Transit and Transportation Directorate of the National Police.

“This PMU will have the participation of all the entities of the transport sector, of TransMilenio, of the mayors of Bogotá and Soacha, of the Government of Cundinamarca. From this unified command post we will make decisions that are necessary in exceptional situations that we hope will not occur “, indicated the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes.

The Transit and Transportation Directorate reported that there will be 600 men available to support the entrance to Bogotá through the different road corridors.

From the District Secretariat of Mobility it is estimated that 350,000 travelers leave in private vehicles and more than 470,000 enter during the festive bridge.

“What we are looking for is that some do not have a peak and plate time at 4 in the afternoon and others at 5 in the afternoon. In this way we have unified the entrance to Bogotá through the different corridors”, Reyes explained.

According to Coviandina, in the exodus operation there may be reversible waves and waves in the Bogotá – Villavicencio direction, between kilometer 0 and 9 depending on the traffic that also occurs in the municipality of Guayabetal. This, seeking that vehicles do not get trapped in tunnels such as El Boquerón and those of Quebrada Blanca.

Regarding the Bogotá – Girardot highway, Reyes reported that a Traffic Management Plan was agreed upon at stop and go and work points that affect mobility on different roads, especially at kilometer 83.

This PMT guarantees drivers that there will be no stop and go, nor any construction work on the holiday Monday, in the return plan from Fusagasugá to Bogotá. In addition, for the first time, there will be a reversible bus on route 40 from Fusagasugá to Bogotá from 12 noon to 10 p.m.

“Travellers will not be able to leave Bogotá to the south of the country on Monday on route 40, but there will be two roads enabled in the department. The route that goes from the Nuevo Salto sector in Soacha to Viotá and the one that goes through Sibaté to Fusagasugá, which are routes that can direct traffic to the south of the country,” explained the Secretary of Mobility of Cundinamarca, Jorge Godoy.

Also, the minister announced that they agreed with the Soacha mayor’s office and TransMilenio to use the exclusive TransMilenio roadway as a third lane that works during the return plan according to demand and need.

It is worth mentioning that, in the corridors in which a high vehicular flow is expected on Monday, January 9, such as Bogotá – Girardot and Bogotá Villavicencio, there will be a total restriction on cargo transportation. “That includes the exceptions raised by resolution 2307 of 2014.
