Chad’s transitional prime minister, Saleh Kebzabo, has been accused of sexually harassing a woman, a charge he has formally denied.

The victim denounced having suffered “terrible sexual harassment” between 2013 and 2017 by Kebzabo, who would have performed “caresses on her arms, thighs or waist” without her consent, as indicated in a letter dated March 17 and published in social networks on April 27.

Days later, the transitional prime minister denied the accusation, announcing a defamation complaint against his whistleblower and other “accomplices” for having broadcast his statements.

Thus, this weekend, the journalist Éric Ngarlem Tolde, who published the letter on Facebook, was arrested and is therefore in police custody.

For its part, the Rotary Club, of which both the victim and the alleged attacker were members, then published a statement denouncing the “false accusations” against Kebzabo and showed their support.

“We reject the false, petty and unfounded accusations of this lady, which tend to damage the dignified and honest reputation of our friend Saleh Kebzabo,” they said in a statement collected by the Alwihda news portal.

According to the letter, the accusations “are aimed at satisfying the desire for revenge” of Doumro, who has been described “as an absolute nuisance, after she was expelled for alleged embezzlement and for “managing the club as private property”. .
