CFT Lota Arauco students are among the 20 Jump Chile 2022 semifinalists

“Yoliyiber Recycling” is the name of the innovative project presented by the students Yosseline Jara Aguayo, Lissette Garrido Y bersabeth montalva from the TNS degree in Computing and Informatics to the Jump Chile Ideas Acceleration Program; initiative that also FShe was the winner of the “Emprende CFT 2022” Contest, recently awarded at the “Innovating in the South of Biobío” Fair.

After months of work and the drawing of various stages, the students They managed to position their idea among the best in Latin America. The project consists of promoting the electronic recycling of common household objects, such as kettles, microwaves, computers, mice, among others, to turn them into electronic toys for girls and boys. Some products that are obtained are dominoes, chess boards, among others focused on didactic learning.

Lissette Garrido Retamal, one of the students that make up this team assured that “the expectations we have as a group is that the project becomes increasingly successful; The idea is that these toys are produced and used by children in basic establishments and kindergartens. We plan to continue with the professionalism with which we are and continue advancing in this project, because for us it is something professional.”

There are two stages that still lie ahead for this group of young people, including the semifinal and the prototype fair, the latter to be held on November 16 and 17 at the Anacleto Angelini Entrepreneurship Center, of the Pontificia Catholic University, in Santiago. There they will exhibit their products to the organizing committee and the 10 finalists will be chosen and, later, in the final stage, the winners will be known who will be able to distribute prizes of up to 30 million pesos, between cash and valued.

Currently, the students have various supports from the institution, ranging from regularly offered workshops, support from specialist teachers, collaboration of the CFT Entrepreneurship Center, among others, that encourage this participation in the best possible way. Marcela Angulo González, President of the Board of CFT Lota Arauco, commented on this achievement.

“This result is the result of the trajectory that the institution has been installing in recent years, through the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship skills as part of its educational model; This has meant that many of the activities carried out in various subjects are linked to challenging the known, generating new ideas and innovations that can be transformed into a concrete solution, even a venture later on”, he added.

Jump Chile, is a business ideas acceleration program focused on Higher Education students from Chile and Latin America, which seeks to train a new generation of entrepreneurs, transforming local problems into business opportunities with global impact; organized by the Catholic University of Chile, through the UC Innovation Center, and SURA.
