The checkered history of Cyberpunk 2077 It came to an end after CD Projekt confirmed that there is no longer any developer working on the title and they are now thinking about the video games that are in development. Although the game achieved redemption in the last couple of years, it left a lesson for the Polish company that claims to have learned its lesson and also ignited the hype for what is on the way.
CD Projekt says goodbye to Cyberpunk 2077 and show your priorities
CD Projekt presented its quarterly financial report with favorable results, but what gives the grade is the update of its video games in development and the plan that the company has for its next releases. Initially, it was confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 was left behind and at this moment 407 developers work on Polariscode name of the new installment of The Witcher which will begin a new saga, so it is considered that the cycle of the futuristic title inspired by the work of Mike Pondsmith has come to an end.
Now, a detail that draws attention is the increase in the number of workers Orioncode name of the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 which, apparently, is gaining positions in terms of the company’s priorities, so it would not be strange that after the launch of the new The Witcher most creatives move towards this second release of the nascent franchise. The good news is that it wouldn’t take that many years to get our hands on them..
In this regard, Michał Nowakowski, deputy general director of CD Projekt, revealed that the company’s goal is to launch its titles in the shortest possible time: we are already working on 2 projects at the same time with Phantom Liberty because it was a project the size of a complete game with almost 300 people, and at the same time we worked on Polaris, so we have the experience. We are also working on more than one project at the moment. This Cyberpunk 2 that is developing in Boston, Polaris which is predominantly being developed here in Europe, and obviously we have other projects, with other teams like Project Sirius and there is the remake of The Witcher, so you can definitely expect us to release more titles. The cadence of releases is something we definitely plan to increase, although I obviously won’t comment on what the spacing between projects is time-wise.”
Still here, at LEVEL UP.
