June 8 () –
The Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Carlos Body, has requested his appearance in Congress to report on the latest progress regarding European funds and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Spanish economy.
As on previous occasions, the appearance will be before the Joint Commission for the European Union, as stated in a document from the Government qualified by the Congress Board to which Europa Press has had access.
Body has always ironically said that the opposition does not address oral questions to him in the control session about the good evolution of the economy, and in fact in the order of next week’s plenary session there is no question addressed to him.
IN HIS LAST INTERVENTION HE ANNOUNCED THE LAUNCH OF ELISA
So he directly asks to appear in committee to report on the economic evolution of the country and the level of execution of the ‘Next Generation’ funds. His last intervention before the Lower House was in April, when he announced the launch of Elisa, a new tool used to analyze the monitoring of the implementation of European funds.
In that appearance he also detailed that the substantive execution was already “halfway through the game” and 34,395 of the 69,528 million euros that the European Commission assigned to Spain for the period 2021-2026 had already been resolved, which means that 55.9% of total resources have already reached homes and companies.
Within the European funds, Carlos Body assessed the figures related to the Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (Perte), of which the Government had already mobilized more than 95% in its first phase and more than 60% were already committed to the final resolution process.
The minister highlighted the performance of the Electric and Connected Vehicle Perte (VEC), with which more than 2.3 billion euros had already been granted to more than 200 projects; and the Perte for renewable energies and renewable hydrogen and storage (ERA), with more than 6,600 million granted to more than 2,000 projects.
