Careful! Nintendo Just Patched Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Most Useful Glitch

Although several companies will not go to gamescom 2022, Ubisoft confirms attendance

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom It’s been on the market for a couple of weeks, and while it’s a gem, it’s not without its flaws. One of them is a glitch that has made life easier for players, but Nintendo has finally patched it today.

We are of course talking about the duplicate glitch, thanks to which players could generate infinite copies of items in their possession through simple steps.

This glitch managed to survive in the first patch that Nintendo released, which focused on fixing bugs that prevented progress in a certain mission and minimal damage.

New patch removes duplicate glitch in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

However, it was a matter of time before Nintendo got to work and patched this glitch, and it certainly did not take long, since on the night of May 25 it released the patch that updates the game to version 1.1.2, which removes this inconsistency.

According to the details, the patch promptly fixes a bug that caused the game’s volume to go up under certain conditions. Also, Nintendo fixed another bug that prevented progress in another mission, called Camera Work in the Depths.

The company also reports that other problems were worked on to improve the gaming experience and this is precisely where the duplicate glitch comes in.

As soon as the update was released, players reported on social media that the patch also removes duplicate items.

How to preserve the duplicate glitch in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

That said, if you don’t want to install the new patch and have the duplicate glitch removed from your game, you’re in luck, as you can prevent it.

You must first make sure that you turn on the Nintendo Switch without being connected to the Internet, so we recommend turning off your modem if you have automatic connection enabled on your console. Or you can enable airplane mode as soon as you turn it on.

If you want to have the console connected to the Internet, but not specifically update The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomwhat you should do is go to Settings and disable the automatic download of updates.

so you can play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the old version of the game, just launch the game without updating (every time you start it will ask if you want to update).

You must take into account that the patches are shared on the console. So if any user of the console updates the game, the updated version will be displayed in the other users or profiles that share the console. Patches are saved in the console, not in the profile.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to go back to a previous version of a game and uninstall updates, unless you want to reformat the entire console.

The good news is that it’s not ruled out that fans will find more ways to duplicate glitches, so if you’ve updated your game it’s still possible that you’ll find other ways to duplicate items later on.
