Over 27,000 Call of Duty cheaters and hackers banned

As stated in the account Charlie Intel in X (via GameSpot), Activision banned more than 27,000 accounts during the weekend in which the free period of CoD: Modern Warfare IIIwhich allowed players to access a couple of modalities and maps in the multiplayer section.

The security team in charge of the RICOCHET anti-cheat software announced that it plans to implement new updates to the system. Consequently, more cheater and hacker accounts are expected to be banned in the coming days.

“The RICOCHET team identified and banned more than 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of enhanced detection systems. “We are moving towards a new set of security updates and anticipate that more waves of bans are to come,” the statement reads.

This recent wave of bans coincides with the release of the Season 3which introduced new maps and the Capture the Flag game mode.

In 2023, the developers stated in the run-up to the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III that they plan to use artificial intelligence to improve the detection and banning of cheaters in future titles in the franchise.
