Cadiz will remain for another year within the calendar of a longer SailGP

9 Jul. () –

The city of Cádiz will remain on the SailGP calendar for another year, a competition that revealed on Tuesday its calendar for its fifth season, 2024-2025, and which will feature new events in Brazil, Germany, Switzerland and Auckland (New Zealand), as well as the return to Great Britain, to be the largest in history with 14 events on five continents.

“The 2024/25 SailGP calendar is another significant milestone in our continued expansion around the world. With a total of 11 teams, SailGP will host events in new territories, strategically positioned to grow the competition while strengthening its fan base,” said SailGP CEO Andrew Thompson.

The 2024/2025 season will begin at the end of November and end at the end of November 2025 in the United Arab Emirates. After its start, it will pass through Auckland (18-19 January 2025), Sydney (Australia) (8-9 February), the US cities of Los Angeles (15-16 March) and San Francisco (22-23 March), and then it will have its premiere in Brazil, in a city yet to be determined (3-4 May).

The competition will return to the United States with New York (7-8 June) and then head to Europe for events in Great Britain (19-20 July), Germany (16-17 August), Italy’s Taranto (6-7 September), Switzerland’s Geneva (20-21 September) and Cadiz (4-5 October), one of the competition’s most popular events in terms of attendance and economic impact. The 2024/2025 season will be rounded off with an additional event in the Middle East scheduled for 7-8 November 2025 prior to the Abu Dhabi Grand Final.
