Bungie celebrates 10 years of Destiny; announces new release plan for expansions and additional content

Not everything is said for Destiny 2at least not in the short and medium term. That’s what Bungie made clear when revealing new information that details the changes coming to its expansion and DLC release model in search of providing more and better content to players.

Bungie will release 2 medium expansions and 4 content updates per year in Destiny 2

Through a press release, Bungie started the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Destinya franchise that has seen ups and downs and that currently has the company in a deep crisis. However, it seems that the only way forward is up and Sony’s company will try to recover from the summer of 2025. This new strategy is called Codename: Frontier and the future of Destiny 2.

According to Bungie, the new plan of Destiny 2 is to release 2 medium expansions and 4 content expansions per yearthe latter will be free. The first expansion has the code name Apollo and will encompass Summer and Autumn 2025during this period 2 content updates will be released.

Next, it will be the turn of the expansion with the code name Behemoth which will cover from Winter 2025 to Spring 2026will also feature 2 content updates.

“This evolution aims to enhance the player experience across a new multi-year saga, introducing a non-linear story, greater consistency in innovations, and significant improvements to activities and rewards in the core game. Players can look forward to this new model beginning with Codename Apollo, a non-linear character-focused adventure and the first expansion of the new model coming in Summer 2025,” the statement reads.
