Brussels approves the second payment of 4.1 billion aid to Ukraine

BRUSSELS Nov. 14 () –

The European Commission approved this Wednesday the second regular payment of 4.1 billion euros of the total of 50,000 that the EU will pay to Ukraine in subsidies and loans until 2027 to support the country’s macrofinancial stability and the functioning of its public administration, a decision that It must also receive the support of the Twenty-Seven.

This decision will raise the total funds disbursed in 2024 within the framework of the Ukraine Plan to 16.1 billion euros and adds to the first tranche of 4.5 billion that kyiv already received.

Ukraine submitted its request for the second payment in October and the Commission has now successfully completed the nine agreed reform indicators, covering the fight against corruption, the business environment, the labor market, regional policy, the energy market and environmental protection.

“As the 1,000 days of Russia’s atrocious war approach, we will help keep the Ukrainian state running as the country fights to survive. We are in this for the long haul,” said Commission President Ursula von der. They read, on social networks.

The transfer to Ukraine will be made once the Twenty-seven give their approval to the new disbursement and after the adoption of a payment decision by the Commission.
