Broadcom has announced that it will open a new factory in Spain after an investment of some 1000 million dollars, something that would be equivalent to approximately 920 million euros. This will be done thanks to the European Chip law, and following the framework of the PERTE CHIP, according to what has been read on Twitter by the president of the company.
This investment will materialize in the form of the construction of a large-scale facility primarily dedicated to the manufacture of substrates of back end, being the only factory of its kind in Europe. In principle, The uncut wafers will arrive at these facilities, separating each chip, mounting it on a substrate and leaving a final product to test..
This news is very important for Spain, since it is one of the types of industry that they want to attract as a form of the PERTE CHIP program, made up of a total of 12,250 million euros and that it should allow Spain to gain some prominence in this strategic sector from which everyone wants a piece of the pie.
Neither the Government nor Broadcom have yet explained where the facilities will be, how many jobs it will generate, or when it will open its doors, but it is definitely a very interesting proposal.
