A man has been arrested and Eight people have been injured on Monday in a stabbing in the town of Southport, in north-west England, police said in a statement.
Emergency services have responded to a home in the town after receiving a call reporting that a knife attack had taken place.
It has been reported that “several victims” “More details will be confirmed when possible. Police have arrested one man and seized a knife,” the statement said.
Shortly afterwards, North West Ambulance Service said all eight injured people had been taken to Alder Hey Hospital.
The detainee, whose identity or nationality has not been provided, has been taken to a police station.
Police stressed, however, that the incident does not represent “a broader threat to the public.”
