June 9 () –
The United Kingdom Air Force (RAF) has reported this Friday that its ‘Thypoon’ model combat aircraft have intercepted several Russian planes that were flying over the waters of the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea, near Finnish territorial space, a member country of NATO.
According to a statement from the British Ministry of Defense, London has launched its fighters to intercept two Russian Tu-22M and two Su-30 fighter jets flying south from mainland Russia.
“Russian aircraft have once again failed to comply with international standards by failing to establish proper liaison with regional flight information authorities,” the British Defense Ministry has denounced.
This is the second incident of these characteristics in less than 24 hours, as tonight the RAF also reported that, in collaboration with Swedish aviation, they intercepted Russian combat aircraft near Swedish airspace.
