The British Conservative Party has expelled MP Andrew Bridgen from the formation after having asserted that the vaccination process against COVID-19 is “the greatest crime against humanity since the Holocaust”.
“Misinformation about the vaccine causes harm and costs lives. I therefore remove Andrew Bridgen from party discipline with immediate effect, pending a formal investigation,” said Tory chief Simon Hart.
For Hart, Bridgen’s words have “crossed a line” of offense in a way that none of his previous frequent criticisms of vaccination had. “We should be proud of what has been achieved,” Hart has defended.
Following his party’s decision, Bridgen will become an independent parliamentarian in the House of Commons, according to the British television channel Sky News.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has expressed his “strongest and strongest condemnation” of Bridgen’s claims, saying it is “unacceptable to establish links and use language like that.” “I am determined to eradicate the scourge of anti-Semitism,” he has said.
“It has absolutely no place in our society. And I know that the previous years have been a challenge for the Jewish community, and I don’t want them to go through something like that again,” the British ‘premier’ defended.
