Brussels cools the desire of the PP to rule on the amnesty
The European Commission and the PP of Alberto Núñez Feijóo have different rhythms. The spokesperson for the European Commission, Eric Mamer, has poured cold water on the PP’s haste by recalling that the community government is analyzing the law and will not make a statement until that evaluation is concluded. On some occasions, the community executive has framed its pronouncement in the rule of law report it carries out on all EU member states and which is scheduled to be published on July 3.
However, the Politico media outlet published this Monday that Von der Leyen intends to delay that publication so that it does not coincide with the election process for senior EU officials in which she is seeking a new mandate at the head of the European Commission. This portal attributes the delay to the criticism that the report will expose regarding Italy due to Giorgia Meloni’s attacks on the media at a time when the Italian prime minister is key to Von der Leyen’s re-election. The spokesperson for the European Commission has not ruled out the delay, but has avoided commenting on the reasons beyond ensuring that the work is “ongoing” and has recalled that the report is normally published in July, but that on one occasion (the first made in 2020) was unveiled in September. “It will be a fair, factual and complete report, which is what matters at the end of the day,” Mamer concluded.

Podemos will present a motion in Congress to limit tourist apartments
The organization secretary and spokesperson for Podemos, Pablo Fernández, announced this Monday that the party will present a motion in the Congress of Deputies that will seek to make a legislative reform to limit access to housing for non-residents. “We believe that it is essential to make public policies that promote access to housing.
