The parliamentary groups of PSOE and Sumar have registered this Monday in Congress a bill to modify several articles of the Immigration Law in order to force the autonomous communities to take in migrant minors when there is a situation of “overcrowding” in the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, the main territories that receive these people.
The text that is now beginning its parliamentary process, to which he has had access elDiario.esestablishes that “the unaccompanied foreign person whose minority is unquestionable or cannot be established with certainty, will be transferred within a maximum period of 15 calendar days from the date of registration in the Registry of Unaccompanied Foreign Minors, to the autonomous community of destination”. The proposal for placement in an autonomous community “will be adopted by the body of the General Administration of the State designated in the Plan and in the applicable regulatory regulations simultaneously with the registration in the Registry of Unaccompanied Foreign Minors”.
