Break DDR5 Memory Overclock Record by Reaching 11,254 MHz



The overclocker who won the G.SKILL OC World Cup competition held at Computex 2023 managed to break the world record a few days later, reaching 11,240 MHz with G.SKILL Trident Z5 modules, breaking the previous world record of 11,202 MHz.

However, just a few hours later, the overclocker Hicookie managed to snatch the record by getting 11.254 MHz ddr5 using an Aorus Z790 Tachyon motherboard and memories 16 GB Gigabyte Aorus RAM capacity.

Liquid nitrogen has been used to cool the Intel Core i9-13900K system manager (remember that the memory controller is integrated into the CPU). Interestingly, Liquid Nitrogen has not been used to cool the RAM. The latencies at which these speeds were achieved were CL64-127-127-127-2.

We’ll be watching to see how long Hicookie’s record lasts and if any other overclockers manage to beat this speed any time soon. DDR5 has been on the market for a relatively short time and its capabilities are still being used. It should not be forgotten that the first DDR5 modules were launched with speeds of 4,800 MHz, and models are currently being launched that exceed 8,000 MHz as standard.
