( Spanish) — The Attorney General of the Republic of Brazil asked the Federal Supreme Court to include former President Jair Bolsonaro in the investigation into the instigators and masterminds of the attack on the headquarters of the three state powers in Brasilia on January 8, according to an official statement.
The note indicates that, for the prosecution, the fact that Bolsonaro published a video on January 10 in which he questioned the validity of the presidential elections “represents public incitement to the practice of a crime.”
Hours later, Bolsonaro deleted that video in which he stated that Lula Da Silva had not been elected by the people but by the Superior Electoral Tribunal and the Supreme Court of Justice.
For the prosecution, although the video was published after the mob destroyed the headquarters of Congress, the Supreme Court and the headquarters of the Executive, “the connection cannot be ruled out” with the facts that the Supreme Court is already investigating.
In total there are seven files open to define responsibility for the attacks on the Government Palace, the National Congress and the Brazilian Supreme Court and identify the actors, sponsors, masterminds, instigators and public authorities.
is looking to get a reaction from Bolsonaro to this announcement from the Attorney General’s Office.
