Brave Announces It Will Block Cookie Consent Notifications on Android and Desktop

Oct. 4 (Portaltic/EP) –

The Brave browser has announced that from its next version it will incorporate a functionality that will allow blocking cookie notices both in the ‘app’ Android as in the version for Desk.

Brave is a private web browser created by the inventor of the Javascript programming language and co-creator of Mozilla and Firefox, Brendan Eich, who was released in November 2019 and that it is focused on privacy.

The company has announced recently that it will soon launch a function in charge of hiding and blocking notifications of ‘cookies’ that they appear on each of the websites that users visit.

Brave considers these alerts “to be an infamous and almost constant annoyance on the web” because they “break and interrupt every single benefit of the web.” Likewise, he believes that in many cases these systems track users and introduce “the damage that they’re supposed to prevent,” as indicated in a statement.

In this way, starting with the next stable version 1.45 of the browser, these notifications will be removed as far as possible with the aim of promoting privacy and prioritizing the Brave user during browsing.

This option, which will initially reach the Android and Desktop application to later move to iOS, although it is already available in the versions Beta and Nightly from Brave for testers.

As the company has pointed out, once the latest version of Brave has been downloaded, the browser will ask users if they want to block ‘cookies’. By enabling this option, you will download a series of guidelines to proceed with it.

Then the browser will start applying these restrictions “as fast as possible” and will enable them on most paired devices. However, he has said that this option can be activated at any time, through the menu of ‘Settings’.
