Brandtech has bought the digital media and marketing company Jellyfish, giving rise to a global digital marketing giant, with more than 927.88 million euros (1,000 million dollars) in revenue, the group announced this Friday.
After this operation, the resulting group will employ more than 7,000 people, who will work for 80% of the largest advertisers in the world and for 49% of the most relevant ones worldwide.
This operation is the result of a period of “exclusive” negotiations, as detailed by Brandtech, which believes that this acquisition consolidates it as a “key partner of world brands”.
Jellyfish, which has more than 2,000 employees in 38 offices around the world, joins the Brandtech group after its “most profitable” year. The company is a global digital marketing partner to some of the world’s most recognized brands including Google, Netflix and Uber.
Jellyfish founder Rob Pierre will become Chairman of Jellyfish and, together with Brandtech Group founder and CEO David Jones, will focus on M&A to develop and expand Jellyfish’s global presence, lead relations with the platforms and continue promoting the culture of the company.
In addition, Brandtech Media founding partner and CEO Nick Emery will become CEO of Jellyfish and will also chair the company’s board of directors.
The French group Fimalac acquired a majority stake in Jellyfish in November 2019, thus, with this operation, it now becomes one of the largest strategic and long-term shareholders of the Brandtech group.
