Bp and Worley have formed a new strategic alliance focused on increasing efficiency, continuous improvement and value creation across bp’s global Construction Projects organisation. This alliance builds on a successful decade-long collaboration between the two companies.
The partnership will improve capital efficiency on on-site projects, with an estimated initial savings of $40 million over two years at locations where Worley has a service contract; oil and gas producing regions in the Gulf of Mexico, Oman, Mauritania and Senegal and the Cherry Point, Whiting, Rotterdam, Gelsenkirchen and Lingen refineries.
It is the first time that an alliance has been formed with bp’s operations business.

Together, bp and Worley will deepen collaboration across a portfolio of construction projects leveraging digital capability and global scale to further drive efficiencies across engineering, procurement, construction development and management.
“We remain focused on improving safety, reducing emissions, high-value activity and reducing costs. This partnership increases our operational efficiency through centralisation, standardisation and simplification, helping us to safely increase bp’s value,” said Niall Maguire, VP site projects, bp.
The alliance formalizes a long-standing relationship based on shared goals, trust and commitment to excellence. It brings together and defines first-rate technical expertise in a resource-constrained market.

“This alliance builds on our successful collaboration on the Project Efficiency Plan (SPEP) over the past two years, where we have worked together to reduce costs across bp’s global operations. Our shared history and values position us well to identify and implement solutions as we continue to create value and deliver sustainable change across bp’s entire project portfolio,” said Mark Brantley, Group President for EMEA and APAC at Worley.
Earlier this year, Worley signed a five-year global framework agreement to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services covering bp’s global refinery assets and ventures into new energy initiatives. Worley holds EPC contracts across all of bp’s exploration and production activities.
