The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, condemned this Thursday the attack perpetrated last Tuesday by two members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) at a tram station in the Yafa neighborhood, in the south of the city ​​of Tel Aviv, an attack that left seven dead and numerous wounded.

“Hamas has claimed responsibility for the shooting and knife attack in Tel Aviv in which seven Israeli citizens were killed and many others wounded. I strongly condemn this terrorist attack that can only lead to more violence,” Borrell said on his website. social

Following this, he stressed that the EU remains “firmly committed” to the fight against terrorism. Muhammad Khalaf Saher Regev and Hasan Muhamad Hasan Tamimi, aged in their twenties and residents of the West Bank city of Hebron, were members of the Palestinian militia and were “neutralized” by police forces after the shooting, although authorities have revealed that Lev Kreitman, a survivor of the militia massacre at the Nova music festival in the October 7 attacks, managed to kill one of the perpetrators.

The commander of the Tel Aviv district police, Haim Sergof, detailed the day before that the two attackers boarded the train, where they fired several shots. Immediately afterwards, they got out of the car and continued shooting in the street.
