Android Automotivethe operating system designed for cars, is making its way into more and more car manufacturers, with BMW being the latest to announce its use, even after the recent announcement of a new generation of Apple Carplay with a much more integrated operation in the vehicle.
Let’s remember that Android Automotive works as an operating system for the entire vehicle – at least in the eyes of its occupants – so that it takes over not only the multimedia part of the vehicle, but also acts as a dashboard, something that will make BMW debut this new operating system under the name BMW Operating System 8.
In principle, the implementation will change depending on the BMW model in which we find ourselves, as well as the driver, since the brand hopes to provide users with a unique experience for each one, although for now we do not know the scope of customization that we will have with Android Automotivewhich if it is similar to that of Android for smartphones, will be quite high.
BMW will start introducing Android Automotive in March 2023so some of the questions we ask ourselves still have no answer, while others we will have to wait for 2023 to know them.
