More productions will debut in the coming months, and the live-action film by Five Nights at Freddy’s It is one of the most anticipated. It seems that those responsible want to bring more franchises to the big screen.
In a talk with Discussing Film (via Comic Book), Jason Blum, founder and current CEO of Blumhouse Productions, spoke about the upcoming release of Insidious: The Red Door, the new installment of the popular horror franchise. At one point in the interview, he talked about the adaptation of the video game created by Scott Cawthon.

Blumhouse Productions, studio of Five Nights at Freddy’, wants to make more video game adaptations
Jason Blum expressed his hope that the feature film based on the indie horror title has a good reception and indicates that video games can inspire great movies. He cited the recent success of Nintendo’s adaptation of the game as an example.
“Well, I think the right video games are a great source of movie material. I mean, did you see it even with [Super Mario Bros. La Película]. It’s a different genre, but it was an incredibly successful film. And certainly, I hope that’s the case with Five Nights at Freddy’s”, indicated the executive.
Blumhouse Productions is currently in the midst of a merger process with Atomic Monster, James Wan’s production company. Fortunately, Jason Blum assures that Wan is also a big fan of video games, so he hopes that there will be more adaptations after Five Nights at Freddy’s. Of course, he refrained from revealing a franchise that he has in his sights.
“James is actually a gamer and we have a gaming division at our company that we’ve worked for. I’m definitely looking forward to finding more games that are popular and that we could turn into horror movies,” said the founder of Blumhouse Productions.
Jason Blum recently spoke about the challenges of making the film Five Nights at Freddy’s. He indicated that he likes a challenge, which is why he did not abandon the project despite the difficulties that delayed production for years.
