Due to the scandals that were generated as a result of the problematic launch of Devil Immortalthe community is cautious and is already expecting the worst for Devil IV when it comes to monetization. It seems that Blizzard is aware of these concerns, which is why it revealed how microtransactions and the dungeon crawler season system will work.
A few days ago, a survey dropped the possibility of seeing micropayments in the multiplayer title. Now, it was the company itself that addressed this and other topics in an extensive publication on its official news section.

This is how Diablo IV monetization will work
Blizzard explained that Devil IV it will be a game as a service and that there will be seasons, in which the players will start from 0 with a new character. In addition, each quarterly season will include new features and other features that will bring new ways to play and adjust class balance, etc.
Kegan Clark, Product Manager at Devil IV, explained that in the video game there will be a Season Pass that will allow players to get special rewards. As is tradition in this class of systems, there will be free levels, as well as paid premium levels.
Luckily, those responsible say that the levels that are purchased with real money are limited to offering cosmetic items and Premium Currency, which we can use in the Store to buy more customization items. Thus, the free levels are the only ones that offer power-ups to level up, so in theory, all players will be able to access them.
Blizzard advanced that it seeks that Devil IV is far from being a pay-to-win. So you want players to buy something because they want to and “not because they feel they have to.” Additionally, it states that the Store will be transparent, so fans will know exactly what they’re purchasing before they do.
“Devil IV will launch with hundreds of unlockable transmogs available from in-game loot, including multiple armor sets of the highest visual quality. There will be amazing items, both unique and legendary, for players to find without having to go to the store. The Store offers more diversity of options, not systematically better options,” says Kegan Clark.
Blizzard emphasizes that all the decorative objects of the video game will never provide competitive advantages, since they seek that all players “experience the fun” of the seasons regardless of whether they spend money or not.
But tell us, what do you think of this philosophy? Let us read you in the comments.
Devil IV will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC starting next year. Click here to read more news related to this project.
