The Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, has urged Israel to design a plan for the “post-war” scenarios in the Gaza Strip, where nearly 36,200 Palestinians have already died due to the Israeli Army’s military offensive, which began in response to the attacks of October 7.

“In the absence of a plan for the day after, there will not be a day after. And that is where we must go and what we have to achieve as quickly as possible,” he stressed during a press conference from Chisinau with the president of Moldova, Maia Sandu.

Blinken has said that Israel needs to have a plan to prevent Hamas from “taking over” Gaza, something he considers “unacceptable,” or a power vacuum in the Palestinian enclave that leads to “chaos” and ” anarchy”.

Furthermore, he has assured that the Israeli Army has had “real success” so far in its “just” objective of destroying Hamas so that the attacks of October 7, which left 1,200 dead and 240 hostages, are not repeated.

On the other hand, he has described as “horrible” the “incident” at the Barakasat displaced persons camp in Rafá, in the south of Gaza, which left at least 45 dead. “I don’t think anyone who has seen the images could not be deeply affected by them,” he added.

Asked about the possibility that the Israeli Army used American weapons to carry out these attacks, Blinken stated that he cannot confirm what type of weapons were used or how they were used. “Everything must be the product of a deliberate, but also rapid, investigation,” he concluded.

His words came after several media outlets, including , reported that remains of American-made GBU-39 small diameter bombs were found in the Rafá displaced persons camp attacked on Sunday night.

The death toll due to the offensive unleashed by Israel against Gaza after the attacks carried out on October 7 by Hamas and other Palestinian militias has increased to around 36,200, as reported this Wednesday by the authorities of the enclave, controlled by the Islamist group. .
