The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment in Castilla y León, Leticia García, has announced that Bimbo employees have already conveyed to the Board their intention to call nine days of strike in the month of October that will begin on Wednesday the 9th in order to to show its disagreement with the announcement of the closure of the plant in Valladolid and has urged the company to “sit down” to negotiate an industrial plan that ensures its viability.

Regarding a possible investor to take over the Valladolid plant, the counselor has advanced that there are options, although “in order for them to be considered, the company must be required to sit down.” “Both the government of Spain, the Junta de Castilla y León and the Valladolid City Council are reiterating to the company that it is willing to seek an industrial solution and, above all, the maintenance of the activity before reaching the unfortunate dismissal decision,” he noted.
