Bildu has been negotiating the Budgets with the Treasury for a month and a half and is confident that they will be approved in February

It does not take for granted that Podemos supports the public accounts, since it has set a condition that is difficult to comply with.

Oct. 26 () –

The spokesperson for EH Bildu in Congress, Mertxe Aizpurúa, has confirmed that her party has been negotiating the 2025 Budgets with the Ministry of Finance for a month and a half and is confident that these will be approved by January or February.

Specifically, Aizpurúa explained that the budget negotiations that collapsed in May due to the Executive’s refusal to present a Budget project in 2024 in view of the electoral scenario in Catalonia have basically been resumed.

Thus, the ‘abertzale’ spokesperson has pointed out that her group is already in “Budget mode” and trusts that the deficit path, which the Government withdrew from parliamentary processing due to the lack of support, will be approved first, and then the General Budgets of the State (PGE), because it considers it “good for all citizens.”

“We hope that there is an agreement on the issue of the deficit path, that this time that the Government has been giving to reach agreements with the rest of the groups is favorable and that this makes it possible to have good Budgets,” he added in statements to Parliament, from RNE, collected by Europa Press.

APPEARS OPTIMISTIC

However, the deputy has said that although she prefers to be “optimistic” and believes that an agreement can be reached for public accounts, “she does not take for granted” that Podemos will support the Budgets, taking into account that the ‘purple’ formation It has consulted its bases if it conditions support for the Budgets on rents being lowered by 40% by law.

A request that Aizpurúa sees as “quite difficult to carry out as proposed.” “I don’t know if it has details or fine print, but that statement is certainly quite difficult,” he commented.

Regarding Junts, the deputy has said that the position of Carles Puigdemont’s formation varies depending on the situations and the moment, so she does not know what is going to happen with the Budgets, but she has stressed that shows “optimistic” for there to be public accounts.

Regarding Bildu’s requests to the Government on budgetary matters, the deputy has said that they will not put “red lines” and will make claims linked to social and territorial issues, with the aim of benefiting the different towns in Euskadi.

I WAS EXPECTING “A LITTLE MORE” FROM THE MINISTER OF HOUSING

The deputy has also been asked her opinion of the appearance of the Minister of Housing, Isabel Rodríguez, last Wednesday, and Aizpurúa has said that she could have waited “a little longer”, because the measures she proposed from the platform, such as preventing forever that social housing is disqualified, were not “very surprising.”

In this sense, the representative has stressed that it is time for the Government to “do much more” in terms of housing, as this is a “pressing” problem that affects both youth and people’s capacity for family development. . “Many more measures are needed,” he added.

Next, the deputy stressed the importance of the Housing Law being applied in all autonomous communities, since currently she says that it only applies in Catalonia and is proving to have “good results.”

Finally, the ‘abertzale’ has been questioned by Sumar’s criticism of the PSOE over the issue of housing while both parties are in the same Government. The spokesperson for EH Bildu has acknowledged that she finds the tone used by the plurinational group with the socialists “a little shocking”, but believes that deep down Sumar “is right” when he asks that more things be done to tackle the crisis of the dwelling.
