The documentary series ‘Press Start: the history of the video game in Spain’which reviews chronologically the 40-year history of the sector, will have its first premiere at the Bilbao International Games (BIG) Conference 2022.
This project, which has just completed the recording of its first season for its premiere in 2023, is produced by IKIGAI Playdirected by diego vargas and created from extensive research.
Specifically, ‘Press Start: the history of the video game’ compiles the 40 years of life of Spanish domestic video games and gathers statements from its protagonists, rescued archive footage and unpublished original materials to tell the story about this sector.
Is about a documentary series composed of 12 episodes between 40 and 60 minutes, divided into two parts, which correspond to two seasons. To create it, 72 people have been interviewed involved in the sector.
“The story that this documentary tells is one that I would have loved to see as a child, starring those industry benchmarks whom I consider heroes”, commented its director in a press release sent to Europa Press.
It indicates that the filming of the first season of this series has already concluded for lovers of the ‘gaming’ universe, so it has just entered a post-production process. At the moment, it is unknown what will happen to the rest of the episodes and on which streaming platform they plan to release it.
The first episode of the first season of ‘Press Start: the history of the video game’ can be seen at the next edition of BIG Conference 2022, held in Bilbao on November 18 and 19.
