Biden with almost no symptoms of COVID-19

The symptoms of COVID-19 in the president of the United States, Joe Biden, have already “almost disappeared”, his doctor reported this Monday.

According to Dr. Kevin O’Conner, Biden still reported “some nasal congestion and hoarseness” but is not experiencing any shortness of breath and is “responding to therapy as expected.

The president, who is fully vaccinated with two regular and two booster doses, has been isolated in the White House since tested positive for covid last Thursday.

The therapy consists mainly of the antiviral drug Paxlovid, and he also receives small doses of aspirin as a blood thinner.

Specialists consider that Biden contracted the BA.5 variant omicron, which causes the symptoms you suffer from. Dr. Ashish Jha, White House coronavirus response coordinator, said BA.5 is responsible for 75% to 80% of current COVID-19 cases in the United States.

Biden canceled his scheduled trips for the week, including one to Florida. However, he will continue to work and attend events virtually until he is released from isolation by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

First Lady Jill Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday and is at her Delaware home until further notice.

Vice President Kamala Harris also tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday and will be able to travel to Indiana to participate in an abortion event.
