Biden welcomes Zelenskyy to the White House

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arrived at the White House on Wednesday afternoon, fulfilling an invitation from his counterpart, the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

Zelenzkyy is scheduled to speak later before Congress on Capitol Hill, marking his first official outing since the Russian invasion began last February.

Zelenskyy arrives in the US on the same day that the Pentagon has assigned, by authorization of the State Department, an amount of 1,850 million dollars in military assistance to Ukraine.
