Biden to travel to Germany and Angola in mid-October

September 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The White House confirmed on Tuesday that US President Joe Biden will travel to Germany between October 10 and 15 and then to Angola in what will be his first international trip since he dropped his candidacy for re-election in the presidential elections next November.

In Germany, Biden is expected to meet with German leaders to “continue strengthening the close ties” that unite both nations and reinforce the shared commitment to defending democracy and “the fight against anti-Semitism and hatred.”

“He will also express his gratitude to Germany for supporting Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression, hosting members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and contributing to the security of the United States, Germany, and the entire NATO,” the White House said in a statement.

The US president will then travel to the Angolan capital, Luanda, on October 13, where he will meet with Angolan President João Lourenço to discuss cooperation issues, including strengthening economic partnerships between the two nations.
