His doctor, Kevin O’Connor, reported that the president had completed a five-day course of Paxlovid, an antiviral drug used to combat COVID-19. “His symptoms have steadily improved and have almost disappeared,” he detailed.

“My symptoms were mild, my recovery was quick and I feel very well,” he said. The whole time I was in isolation I was able to work, fulfill my duties without any interruption. That shows how far we have come in the fight against COVID-19,” he said.
In addition, he reminded Americans that covid “is not gone” and that the most serious symptoms can be avoided with vaccines, boosters and treatments, and said they are available to everyone.
“You don’t have to be president to get these treatments,” he declared.
The president wore a mask during his speech and plans to wear it “well-fitting” for five more days when around other people.
