Biden signed the executive order, approved by Congress last week, while on vacation in Santa Cruz.
The legislation includes record military funding, emergency aid to Ukraine, more aid for students with disabilities, additional funding to protect workers’ rights, and more job training resources, as well as more affordable housing for families, veterans, and people on the run. of domestic violence.
The initiative, of more than 4,000 pages, was approved in the Senate by 68 votes in favor and 29 against, with the support of 18 of the 50 Republican senators. In the House of Representatives it was approved by 225 votes in favor and 201 against.
