Biden biopsy confirms basal cell carcinoma and removal of cancerous tissue: White House

A biopsy performed on US President Joe Biden in February confirmed that a skin lesion removed from his chest was basal cell carcinoma and that all cancerous tissue had been successfully removed, White House physician Kevin said Friday. O’Connor.

Biden will continue dermatological surveillance as part of his ongoing medical care, but the biopsy site has healed and no further treatment is necessary, the White House physician added.

Last month, doctors declared the 80-year-old Biden sane and “fit for duty” after a physical examination.

O’Connor noted in a letter released by the White House that basal cell carcinoma lesions do not tend to spread or metastasize.

The biopsy site has healed well, he said. “No further treatment is required,” O’Connor added.
