Beautiful! The opening theme song for the Ash-focused Pokémon special is a nostalgia trip

But first, The Pokémon Company has prepared a special that is expected to be full of nostalgia, since it will represent Ash Ketchum’s goodbye as the protagonist of the anime. We were already able to take a look at the opening and it will undoubtedly make all the fans who discovered the series in childhood or grew up with it emotional.

As planned, the first episode of this 11-part special aired this weekend in Japan and something that caught his attention is that it includes several scenes from the 25th anniversary of the anime.

We inform you that this special would have an opening or start sequence with a remix of rock pokemon masterperformed by the Japanese singer Rika Matsumoto, artist of the original theme, which in the West became known as Gotta Catch ’em All! (Catch them now!in Latin America).

The opening of the last episodes of Pokemon is full of nostalgia

Well, thanks to this first episode we could see that this theme is accompanied by several scenes from the anime of yesteryear that show the friends that Ash Ketchum made on his travels through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola and Galar, which is equivalent to 26 years of uninterrupted broadcasting and just over 1,200 episodes and 25 movies.

Thus, we get to see Ash with Misty, Brock, and more human friends, as well as Pokemon he caught, like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. There are also sad moments, such as the farewell to Butterfree and Charizard, and the orbs of the 7 types of Pokémon with which the franchise originally debuted, which ultimately became the 18 today. There are also encounters that Ash had with Legendary Pokémon over the course of 25 seasons.

In case you missed it: fans of Pokemon they came close to seeing Ash’s father for the first time, but in the end they didn’t make it.

While some weren’t so pleased that this opening was a compilation of scenes from previous seasons instead of new animation, many were happy to recall several iconic moments. It has already been confirmed that the opening will change every week, as other Ash Pokémon will be highlighted.

Something similar will happen with the episodes themselves, since each one will focus on various characters that accompanied Ash. The Pokémon that Ash will carry will rotate. In the first episode Ash spent time with Buizel, Noivern, Sceptile and Donphan, plus Pikachu of course.
