The people who have lost an iPhone, due to loss or theft, they should be aware of a new scam that pretends to have located the device to obtain the bank credentials of the owners.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have alerted via Twitter of a campaign of mass sending of text messages (SMS) in which it is claimed to have Found a lost iPhone. This message is supposedly sent on behalf of Apple.
It is a phishing campaignwhich poses as the technology company to trick the owner of a lost iPhone into clicking on the attached link with the supposed location and provide your data and access credentials to your bank account.
Precisely, the objective of the scam is the bank account, to subtract the money that the user has saved in it. According to the Police of Catalonia, the cybercriminals behind this campaign already They have managed to defraud more than 28,000 euros.
