Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) has inaugurated the market in 2023 with an issue of non-preferred senior bonds with an eight-year term, that is, maturing in January 2031 and amortization option in the seventh year, according to market sources .
The exit rate is midswap plus 190/195 basis points, and the
placement banks are Barclays, BBVA (B&D), BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB and JP Morgan.
The bonds will be listed on the Dublin regulated market (Euronext). The purpose of the issue is aligned with the entity’s financing plan.
In 2022, BBVA carried out 6 public issues: two SNP issues (the first in January for 1,000 million euros and the second in September, in dollars, in two tranches for a total of 1,750 million) and another four SP issues, one in May, of 1,750 million euros, in two tranches; another of 1,250 million euros in mid-September; another in October, for 1,250 million euros, and the last one in November, for 425 million Swiss francs.
