BBVA, Ferrovial, CaixaBank, Saint-Gobain, Cosentino, Gestamp, Aena, Bankinter, Enagás, Sesé, LG, Antolin, Iberdrola and EDP have been the winners of the ‘Scope 3.0 Awards’, which have recognized, in their first edition, the work of leading companies in sustainability and committed to the environment and innovation.
The awards, promoted by the CPOnet Group, recognized companies that lead projects to reduce the carbon footprint in their companies and throughout their value chain through innovation, leadership and resilience in their implementation.
The gala was attended by King Felipe VI as honorary president, the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, as well as prominent personalities from the business and sustainability world.
In this context, Hereu highlighted that “rewarding the construction of a more sustainable future is always a great initiative”, while saying that “as Minister of Industry it is a satisfaction that private initiatives recognize and reward companies that implement solutions for a more sustainable and cleaner future”.
Thus, BBVA received the award for ‘Best comprehensive scope reduction strategy 3’; Ferrovial Construction, the award for ‘Best innovation in reducing emissions in the supply chain’; CaixaBank, that of ‘Supplier Commitment’; Saint-Gobain, for ‘Best communication and transparency’ and Consentino, for ‘Best practice in the construction and Real State sector’.
Likewise, the recognition for ‘Best practice in the automotive sector’ went to Gestamp; ‘Best practice in the transport sector’, for the airport manager Aena; ‘Best practice in the energy sector’, for Iberdrola; that of ‘Best practice in the financial and insurance sector’, for Bankinter, and that of ‘Best leadership and executive commitment’, for Enagás.
The Sesé Group, for its part, won the award for ‘Best collaboration and strategic alliances’; LG, for ‘Best positive impact beyond emissions reduction’, Antolin, for ‘Best training and education initiative’, and EDP, for ‘Best resilience and adaptability’.
Finally, the organization presented the president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi, with the ‘Honor Award’.
In Garamendi’s words, “this award reflects the achievements achieved to date by many of these companies. However, even more important is that it underlines our current and future commitment to achieving the objectives determined in the Paris Agreement, which make the measurement of the carbon footprint essential. Sustainability is not a final destination, but rather a continuous journey that evolves with each technological advance and each new alliance.”
