Barbie and Ken explore the "real world" and what life is like with flat feet in a new trailer

() It’s just a Barbie who lives in… the real world?

He new trailer From the film “Barbie,” directed by Greta Gerwig, which was released this Thursday, May 25, offers the first full look at Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) leaving Barbie Land to explore the “real world.” Let’s go ahead and say that today is “the best day ever!”

The best day, until Barbie is seen having an existential crisis in all its glory.

“Some things have happened that could be related,” Barbie tells her friends, adding that she experienced a “cold shower” and fell off the roof, instead of floating like normal.

And that’s not the worst.

“And my heels…they’re on the floor,” Barbie says to her Barbie friends, who scream at the sight of Barbie’s flat feet. It’s pandemonium, and it’s hilarious.

As Barbie tries to solve this problem, her first stop is to see “weird Barbie”, played by Kate McKinnon, who tells her she has to go to the “real world”.

“You can either go back to your normal life, or you can learn the truth about the universe,” says Rare Barbie, making Barbie choose between the pink-heeled path and the human Birkenstock path.

And so begins Barbie’s journey with Ken through the real world. “Barbie in the real world? That’s impossible,” says a human named Gloria, played by America Ferrera.

As Cass Elliots’ “Make Your Own Kind of Music” plays in the background, clips of Barbie’s journey around the world are shown. We see Barbie being arrested, Ken attempting to perform an appendectomy on a human, and Barbie on the run from the villainous Mattel CEO played by Will Farrell, who is desperate to put her “back in a box.”

This Thursday, it was also announced that among the artists featured on the film’s soundtrack are Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Haim, Tame Impala, Nicki Minaj, Karol G and one of the film’s stars, Ryan Gosling -whose number musical did not appear in the trailer. Producer and DJ Mark Ronson is the executive music producer of the soundtrack.

The movie “Barbie” will hit theaters on July 21.
