He Bank of the Republic received from Bureau Veritas Certification – BVQIthe carbon neutrality and recertification certifications of the Environmental Management System of the entity under ISO 14001 standard.
He General Manager of the Bank of the Republic, Leonardo Villarsaid during the certification delivery ceremony that the entity contributes to the responsible care of the environment with the implementation of measures focused on the prevention, control and mitigation of the environmental impacts generated in its different processes.

He assured that in all his facilities, in the industrial, cultural areas and in its 28 branches and agencies progress has been made in reducing energy consumption and optimizing the use of wateras well as adequate treatment and disposal of the waste generated in each process.

He also said that “obsolete equipment with high energy and fuel consumption has been replaced with more efficient equipment and solar panels have been installed in 13 bank branches” and also offsets its carbon footprint by promoting the planting of trees of native species, in areas of ecological interest.
